Projection and sculpture installation created as part of Lightbox LAB Spring 2018 artist residency.
As technology becomes more interwoven into daily life, trends in self-care have increasingly put an emphasis on doing what’s natural. Eating organically, healing holistically, and “going off the grid” are presented as antidotes to a culture of digital dependency. Instead of polarizing these facets, this installation embraces and embodies them together in a way that celebrates the relationship between rigidity and fluidity and explores the ways in which opposing concepts can be merged harmoniously.
Inflorescence is the botanical term used to describe patterns flowers make as they grow and blossom from their stems. The inflorescence in these pieces have been digitally altered to create infinite, radial patterns that seek to inspire meditation and introspection.
